2011 F150 5.0l CMP Codes
Hello! I have a 2011 F150 XLT SuperCrew 5.0l and I just tore the heads off and had them resurfaced and new valves. When I put it back together I put new timing chains, tensioners and guides, VCT solenoids and filters, knock sensors, cam position sensors, plugs and coils, all 4 O2 sensors and gaskets. I was careful about getting it back in time.... Start with the crank at 9 o'clock... installed the secondary chain on the vcts... positioned the cams with the vct notches as shown in the Haynes manual and got them back on. Lined up the marks on the primary chain and then rolled the crank up to 12 o'clock. same thing on the passenger side.... got the cams lined up as shown in the manual... installed the chains on the vcts and slid them on the end of the cams (put the new vct filters in the end of the cams first).. Lined up the primary chain on the marks and installed the guides and tensioners. Then rolled the motor over real slow to make sure nothing was interfering or binding up and felt good. Got the rest of the motor put back together. Motor starts and runs but gives codes PO340, PO344, PO345, PO349, PO365, PO369, PO390, and PO394... basically errors for all four cam position sensors.
Tried swapping the OEM sensors back in... same codes. Tested for 12VDC and continuity to ground in the two powered sensors... doesn't look to be any other damage to the wiring harness and the codes were not present before I started the teardown.
Is it possible I didn't not get the timing set correctly? I assumed that 5.0l engines are interference engines and it would have bound up when I tried to roll it over by hand. Is that not true?
If it is in time, what could be causing the codes other than the sensors?
