Thumbs down 2009 F150 5.4 Oil Pan Rusted out

I got my first ford a month ago. 2 weeks ago it started to leak oil. I had it looked at per the car lots request and it turned out to be the oil pan has a hole in it from rust. Ford told me that they wont do anything about it and now I have a truck that I have had for 1 month and has 80,000 miles on it that I need to dump $850 to $950 into it.
The Mechanic said he wanted to use a Ford original oil pan but if they all rust out why? Should I request an aftermarket pan and if so what kind.

Just put an oem one in and call it a day.

Just because something is aftermarket, doesn't mean it is better.

The only reason that pan failed is due to moisture sitting in the engine. There's a 100 different reasons that could happen including weather conditions and driving habits of the previous owner. Let's hope that's your only issue. OEM is fine but $850 is pretty steep for an oil pan installed. I find a small shop for a better price. Good luck.

could have been from something external, like a hose, rubbing up against the pan as well. I've seen it happen.
