Thanks for sharing this info! Those lifters can definitely cause a ticking that changes with RPM and goes away under load. With that mileage, I guess, it’s also worth checking any 2007 Ford F150 recall list, especially around engine or lifter issues, just to make sure nothing else needs attention.

Good tip on torquing the caps correctly. That’s often the trick to avoid future noise. With those old trucks, catching these things early saves a lot of headaches later.
