2006 f 150 stays running with key off, headlight switch on
hey guys,
this is a weird one for me. with the headlight switch on, none of the dash controls work properly,and the windshield wipers only work at a snails pace. The weirdest part is with the headlight switch turned on i can turn the ignition key to off and take the key out but the engine stays running. With the headlight switch off everything works as it should. My ? is do you think its just the switch or some other gremlin. Thanks guys

I would try a new switch... or at least swap some relays around

Did you ever resolve this? I have the same issue with a 2007. With me I might have caused it but installing a new stereo and connecting an illumination wire to the wrong one. This caused all my instrument lights to no longer work. While troubleshooting that problem I noticed I have the problem you describe where it stays running even with the key out when the headlight switch is still on.
