2005 F150 4.2L auto - shifting problems on rebuilt trans
Just got my truck back with a rebuilt trans.
I hit a section of bumpy road and now it shifts from first into second, then third then second then third, rapidly, over and over unless I take my foot of the gas.
It will drive in 3rd or OD ok.
What is going on?
Any ideas what got knocked loose?
Thanks

I would take it back to whoever rebuilt it for inspection... Is the fluid level correct ??

However, I noticed the shift lever does NOT function properly either.
P, R, N, D, 2 are fine, but the lever does NOT go into 1st.
Thinking something is loose???

fixed problem
My mechanic made a house call.
Transmission linkage was out of alignment and binding up.
Still tough getting the shifter into 1st gear, but it is totally drivable.
