Default 2004 F150 No turn signals with headlights on

Hello, I have a 2004 F150 FX4 with a very unusual problem.
With my headlights OFF all functions work. (turn signals work, hazards work, brake lights work)
With the headlights ON the dash lights do not work, turn signals do not work, hazards do not work.
I have checked all fuses and bulbs, everything is in working order.
With the headlights on you can see a faint glow of both the turn signals and hi-beam light. the turn signals do not even click or anything.

My thought has to be that whatever the headlights and multi function switch share has to be bad. Has anyone ever had this problem or know something that i am over looking or missing?

Sounds like you have a bad ground to the headlights, current is finding a ground thru the park/turn lamps.

Agree with Rnlcomp.. check head light ground.. I think there is a ground wire on each side coming out of the harness

The grounds are both pretty green (the truck is from the salt belt)
I will un-bolt them and clean the eyes tomorrow once I get to the shop.

Well cleaning the grounds did not work. Also it seems now if I start the truck and turn on the AC it wont even let the truck shift (locks the gear shift in park)

You've got multiple issues that won't get fixed over the internet, time to take her in to a trained tech. I can almost guarantee you have a ground issue.

I agree, as I have been there/done that. It's looking for ground in all the wrong places.

I was finally able to get a hold of a wire diagram yesterday and was able to track all the issues back to a common point being G8. The ground was on the passenger side under the kicker panel, under the fuse box.
The ground was completely rusted through, so I made new ends, cleaned some of the paint off and re-located the grounds and now the truck is working perfectly.

You where 100% right Rnlcomp, just wish I had a wiring diagram a few days earlier so I wasn't just guessing where to look.
