2002 F150 Fan, Instrumentation Panel Remains On
Last winter, I had an issue where I kept coming out to my truck with a dead battery. Replaced the battery (I was due for a new one). Kept dying on me. Then I discovered that my heater/fan was still running even after I got out of my truck. Decided that something must have been shorted during the rain. No big deal, I’ll just make sure I turn off the fan whenever I get out of my truck. However, just recently I came out to my truck with a dead battery again. Discovered the same issue was happening again. This time though, I noticed that the instrumentation panel remained on.
Has as anyone had an issue like this before? Is there anything I can due to fix it? It must be a leak somewhere because it’s only an issue when it rains.

So after some research, it sounds like I may have the infamous leaky windshield problem. I was hesitant to assume that’s what it was since I did not notice any water on the dash, but I got the windshield replaced regardless. Windshield repair guys said it’s usually hard to save the glass to just reseal it. Not sure I believe them, but I don’t mind just getting a new windshield altogether. That way I know that it was actually removed and the seal is new/warrantied.
So so far so good. After everything dried up from the previous rain, I have not had any electrical problems. Still working so far after a days light rain. We’ll see after a heavier rain. I’ll keep anyone watching this post who may be having similar issues updated.
