Question 1980 F150 300 Oil Pump

I own a 1980 F150 with the I6 and a four speed on the floor (3spd w/OD). It has 162000 and the oil pan gasket leaks, and the idiot light for the oil will flashes sometimes. I know if the engine is bogging and about to stall the light should blink, but mine will do it when I am just cruising down the back roads in 3rd or fourth (50mph) I am going to change the gasket (at a shop on a lift thank god) and was probably going to do the oil pump as well.
My question is should I plasti gauge the crank bearings, and should I get a high volume pump? I don't know if I should trust buying something as important as an oil pump from Autozone or NAPA
