Hi this is my first post on this forum. I have been having issues with misfires on my 5.4 3v triton 220k miles. It hasn’t been spark plugs or fuel injectors or coils. It has been my valve rockers locking up and then the camshaft eats them and in turn the camshaft is grinded down and messed up on that lobe. I have taken off both valve covers a couple times and found rollers just laying in the corner of the head. Definitely not where they are supposed to be. So my question for you guys is what is the best way to go about fixing this? New cam/rollers/timing chain kit. Or do I just take the hit and get a whole new engine. Please let me know what you guys think and I will be putting pictures up of the damage in the next couple days. I love the truck so not looking to part with it yet
Also I am new to Washington state so if any of you know of a good mechanic in the Northwest I am looking for someone to do the work as I can’t do it at my apartment. Thanks in advance!
