Default '07 FX2 SCAB 5.4. "Check Gauges" flashes

This just started last week. When I start the truck, for just an instant the display flashes "Check Gauges" then goes to it's normal display of mileage and Compass.

Nothing in the gauge cluster is out of the ordinary except the random TPS indicator that I think we all try and ignore. Some days on, some days off.

Reading the manual, it says that the oil pressure may be low, coolant temp too high or fuel level too low. None of the gauges show any of these symptoms. Plenty of coolant, correct amount of oil and a full tank of gas.

Any ideas? I'm going to disconnect the battery for a few minutes and see if that clears it, but first I may have it scanned.

Truck has 101,566 miles, and runs great.

Make sure the electrical connector behind the gauge cluster is seated against the dash/gauge panel circuit board. A loose connection in this location would give you your symptoms.
