Did you cover the entire back of the emblem with the foam tape or just a few pieces spread around?

I'm wondering if you can see voids caused by the missing adhesive at extreme angles if you don't cover the entire surface area of the emblem. It would take a lot of trimming with an x-acto blade afterwards.
I had a packet of small ½ x ½ pads that I used. About ten on each badge. You can see them if you put your head on the bodywork and look behind and there are some gaps but its definitely not obvious.

Im not convinced they are needed at all as the clips seem very strong - they made a loud 'clunk' when I fitted the badges back on!

Damn that blows about the dents... I had some very minor marks on the holes for the clips from pulling the clips out, pulled the aluminum out a tiny bit right at the center of the holes, but no dents using a heat gun when I replaced my emblems.

I just used a plastic trim tool to push the spots back in around the holes, but the emblem covers it up totally.

I am contemplating removing the badges all together and filling in the holes. The antenna is also on the chopping block.
