Default Painting diamond plate bed tool box

I see some used truck tool boxes around my area and want one for my truck. Problem is, they are all chrome. Anyone have a "how-to" for painting diamond plate black??

I would scuff it up with some sandpaper and use rustoleum with primer

I.have two that I painted. I used Rustoleum textured paint. One is in a garage queen. The other is in a daily truck. The garage queens looks like it did the day I did it 5 years ago. The daily truck sits outside. The paint comes off the lid every winter after snow sits on its. I have to repaint the lid every spring.

Repainting the lid is no big deal. I knock the loose paint off at the car wash and give the lid a quick spray after the water dries.
