Oil catch cans
Hey guys. I’m fresh to this forum. I’m an Audi vw guy at heart. Just doing the research at I’m coming into my 49,000 km service. it’s a carbon clean along with some other things. I didn’t think this eco boost would have the same blow by issues as the euro Pcv system. Anyway. I desired to fabricate my own oil catch cans. With $150 in materials I figure it will do the trick. People are saying that collect 155 ml a month. Give or take in oil/ condisation a month. My truck is a 2014 f150 fx4 ecoboost. I’ll post pics of them installed is s day or two.

Nice work
let me know what hose you find that works and where to get that and the end fittings. I am on my second set of braided hoses now, they all bleed through and gets the smell of the oil and gas, if you touch it its oily

I think im going to just try heater hose. Very similar to fuel line. I have tried blue silicone hoses before and yes. Those hoses sweat and get oily residue on the outside. Going to try this for now because it’s cheap. And I’m going to take apart the factory PCV hoses from the valve cover to boost pipe and use those factory fittings.

because there’s 2 pcv hoses. One on the top of each valve cover. The boost pipes pretty much pull oil, condensation and vapor right out of the head and all that crap goes back into the intake and coats your valves with carbon. Down the road it can do a ton of damage to your heads. And it’s a pain in the *** to remove the carbon.

best thing you can do is replumb the passenger side line to enter pre-turbo like many of the catch can kits do. This I believe is the number 1 reason the catch cans are so effective at helping eliminate the fuel in oil issues these trucks have. Before my catch can was installed my oil used to smell so bad when I would change it.

I saw some that go from valve cover to air box. Aka pre turbo. What’s the reasoning behind that
