Smile F-150 bumpers color change

Hello,

My F-150 currently has the black bumpers that dont look the best....Looking to change them to white to match the rest of the truck. Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks

Cheapest = vinyl wrap

Otherwise get them painted to match by a body shop or have them powdercoated.

I sanded and painted mine. They where chrome before. It was a decent amount of work but very well worth it. Since I did it myself it only cost about $50 to do bumpers, running boards, handles, and the grill.

Don't forget to use primer before painting.

How did you sand your bumpers? Paint still holding up? Where did you get your paint?

I used a small black & decker sander, like $30, and removed most of the chrome. It took some work, over an hour to sand it. Then I put 2 coats of automotive primer down from autozone. I bought my color paint from summit racing, the gun metal gray and a clear coat. It was another $50-60. I have a paint gun and a compressor that i used to put down the paint. I hung the stuff off an old awning in the back yard to paint it.

I am no where near a professional. I just took my time and watched some videos on how to paint with a paint gun. Its been over 2 years since i painted it. The pictures above were taken at the time i posted it so you can see its held up very well.

There has been 1 small rock chick. I bought a ford color touch up pen and it looks fine.

Hope that helps. You should do it.
