Default 2004 F-150 swap with 09-10 5.4 3v Triton

I have a 2004 F-150 with a 5.4 liter 3v Triton that has 240,000 miles on it and the motor finally blew. Reman engines cost a arm and a leg, and I am not willing to put a used engine from the same year truck in since they had so many issues with the 04-05 motors. I have found several used 09-10 5.4 liter 3v Triton motors online for about half the price of a reman 04-05. I am having issues finding details on if they are interchangeable or not. To my understanding, they bolt up just fine, but I would like some clarity as to if there would be any electronic issues since my truck has the 4 speed transmission, and the '10 has a 6 speed. I was planning on switching the oil pan and intake over from the 04 motor onto the '10 motor because I've read that the sensors/fitment are different for those years. Other than what I have already written, I'm hoping someone with more experience can shed some more light on the topic, or point me in the direction of someone who has successfully pulled this swap off. At this point, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Default motor swap

here is what I did.....both 5.4.....09 into a 07....worked fine.....the 09 was a 6 spd & of course the 07 a 4 spd....what you want to be looking for is a motor that is LATE 2008 built from sometime in Oct. 2007 & later......these engines have the updated cam phazers etc. & do not have the same problems with the spark plugs....I am told you can tell the late 08 engines from the build date / also vin...the easy fast way to tell is look at the Vin sticker on door post...then look @ the part number on the spark plug coils. I am told......anything built before late Oct. 2007 will have a part number on these coil paks starting with 3L3E 12A366-CA.....if it starts with 8Lxx it should be what you will want...(the 3L & 8L is what you are looking for) check multiple coil paks as someone may have changed 1 or 3 or even all???
after that you may have to change things like the exhaust & intake manifolds, the oil filter bracket/holder also the cam sensors etc. & any other wires & engine harness pertinent to your year etc.as ford changed the wiring connections on different years...sorry I can't tell you how or if the later actual engines will perform in an 04 enviroment????
