Yes...another headlight thread
So after spending the last week searching and researching I've just become frustrated with finding information. I, like many others, want to go the plug n play led headlight route but without dropping $1600 on the retros. I see the OPT7's, morimotos, putcos, etc. But what makes these all different from the rest and can I get some reviews from some of you that have either of these? Just some simple advice it's tough to dig through all the threads.

Your best bet outside of the factory led projectors is to have yours retrofitted. You can either do it yourself or there are a number of guys on Facebook and Instagram with business that have been doing then on the '15s. Raptor Retrofit, RedLine Lighting, Retroshop, etc... Honestly from what I have seen they have a better output even than the stock leds. If your looking for something to just plug and play neither a led or HID is a great option as they tend to give alot of foreground light scattered around with no real beam focus.

^^^ What he said.
OP - there IS not low-cost, safe and effective route to truly better performing lighting that is suitable for use in traffic. That pipe dream has been discussed, dissected and put out of it's misery, several times. But like a non-staked vampire keeps resurrecting itself. .
Save your money and do it right.

Horror stories await you - be advised.
Just 'cuz some feller with an oven, some spare epoxy and paint puts up an AyssBook, TWITter, or Instapunk shingle, does not mean you should entrust yer exceedingly pricey stock housings to them.
Go for known experience and rep, and an abundance of good solid reviews and references.
Yer truck - yer money. Choose wisely.
Do NOT shoot the fekkin messenger, aight?
Good luck

I used a small local guy and had a good experience, but the trick is like MGD says, experience doing retrofits and good reputation is huge. I wouldn't just go with someone you find on craigslist that says they will do it.
