XLT Owners: Do you regret not buying a Lariat? Poll..

I don't regret not buying an XLT and love my Lariat (502a) and all the options.
Its what someone can afford. I wonder more why someone buys a Platinum over a Lariat...seems I got everything a Platinum has minus the girl in the seat that massages my back.
And...I never buy a truck with the mindset of resale value. I buy it for what I want and for what I need.
I don't need to "mod" anything and so I spend more time fishing and drinking beer.

Maybe I'm one of the odd ones out, because I had full load FX4 and Lariat trucks for the last 5-6 years (last one was a 2017 Lariat Special Edition 502a), then downgraded to a 2011 XLT, and then upgraded that truck to a 2018 XLT. Man I miss all those features. I don't regret why I temporarily downgraded, but I really miss those little features and can't wait to get them back.
I don't daily drive my truck, but it is used to haul something almost every weekend, does a ton of towing in the summer and it's generally my long trip truck. The dual auto climate, LED lights, nice stereo, sunroof, console, navigation, 4A, intelligent access, retractable running boards and more add up to about $17,000 difference between the Lariat SE I have coming and my 2018 302a, but the additional resale and added value of those items to me make it worth it to me. To each their own, some people don't need or want those features in a truck and that's fine. The XLT is a fine package for most regardless of the fact that it's missing some real fundamentals that competitors offer like standard dual climate and LED lighting, but once you have those features and downgrade to one without those features, you start to miss them after the honeymoon period of having a brand new truck fades off.
Modifying an XLT to add some of these features makes no sense to me, but I'm not as much of a modder as I am the type that gets what I want in the first place. Don't have the time or desire to figure out how to put 4A in an XLT. As Dan above said, I'm too busy using my truck to pull my shack out to a campsite to sit around a fire and drink beer.

I see this all the time, guys will defend their purchase of a lower trim because "its what they wanted" and then in a few years they're asking whats a good trade in value because they want a higher trim.

So your saying some people's XLT's came from the factory with push button start?

Firerunner, are you offering to install them for me? LoL I'm pretty sure adding the 360 and adaptive is beyond my skill set, plus may void the warranty. The seats, I would have to get re-covered in cloth and try to match the factory. Probably have to buy an extra cloth back seat cover to use as a donor to cover the armrest etc.

Can't be a regret unless you can afford either one and for some reason were not happy with what you chose. I could not afford the Lariat because the rebates were not the same. I could have swung the price increase had the incentives been identical, but they weren't. So I wish I could have got the Lariat, but I can't say it's a regret because it wasn't really a financial option. The XLT is the better value, but when trade time happens, I'm hoping I can swing the Lariat. My favorite trim is the King Ranch, but again, that's probably out of the realm of possibility unless I were to go used.

This is my first F150 (had a couple of Rangers back in the 90s) and all my previous vehicles have been top of the line trim with all the bells and whistles. But I couldn’t justify the extra $8K+ for what it would have cost for the lariat over the XLT as I would have bought them. The only thing I really miss is the auto climate control. I hate having to fiddle with the manual controls so much but it’s not a deal breaker. I thought not having Intelligent Access would be a bigger deal than it is - don’t miss it at all. I did add the visor homelink controls.

The only thing I really would like to have off the Lariat are the LED head/taillights...and not all Lariats even have those. Otherwise I'm perfectly happy with my XLT.

Worst hairday ever...
Agreed, the one thing I wish I had some days is a heated steering wheel. There is a thread around here showing how it can be added to XLT.
