Wrench icon, turbo mod
I brought my 2017 Ford F-150 with 3000 miles to dealer, wrench icon came on, diagnostic performed turbo module error detected. The dealer cleared code and now needs to drive vehicle for 60 miles make sure its fixed? Does that sound right? I told them I would pick up my truck and put on the 60 miles but they will not release it to me. They told me if wrench icon came back on loss in power may cause an accident or damage to truck that they would be liable for, what do you guys think?

I think 60mi seems a little high for a drive cycle. You said the dealer cleared the code. Is that all they did? What actual fix was performed?

I am not exactly sure what was done but I am thinking that the wrench icon will come on again and they will be forced to replace the module under warranty. Think this is just protcol because their to cheap to replace part, want to make sure that its defective not just software glitch. I will keep this posted waiting on the outcome.

You are paying the note and covering the truck with insurance. I wouldn't let them drive it the 60 miles.

Basically the mechanic who fixed it or service manager will be driving your truck home for the night to see if it will act up. This is exactly why I have a dash cam hidden inside my truck.

while the truck is in their care, custody, and control, it is covered under their "garage keepers" policy, i.e. typical liability coverage mechanics and repair facilities carry specifically to fix cars accidentally wrecked during testing/whatever.

LMAO the skeptics on this site trip me out. I hope yall don't go out in public with your tinfoil hats too. A drive cycle on EVAP or the catalyst system can set in 8 miles or, in extreme cases, up to 300 miles. We had a guy trying to get an inspection and to set the monitors he ended up having to put 500 miles on his F150. Granted it was tuned and that always makes it harder. They are just trying to make sure that the "fix" they performed is gonna hold up and the light doesn't come back on. How much more pissed are you gonna be when you go "****** your truck from the thieving evil doers" and then have to take it back up there in 3 days and drop it back off again.
