I'll be surprised if anyone tries to fix that truck. Glad you are ok, hope all involved are ok. Did all the airbags blow up? All of that crumpled stuff is what softens the impact....for you and the other driver. When wheels and rear ends are hit damaging energy is transferred into the suspension, front transaxle if a 4x4 and into the rear of the transmission if hit in the rear end hard. That typically does a lot of expensive damage, some of which can show up later even in milder impacts. You can sustain damage to your body also that might not show up until a week, month, years later.
Guy crossed over into my lane years ago and hit me head on at 60 mph. Nearly killed us both. I sorta walked away without much in the way of cuts but had a broken neck, arrhythmia, and a neck that kills me to this day. Got 150K for damages and a new truck. Wish my '90 Nissan little truck had had an airbag. Seatbelts are good...airbags/seatbelt much better. People ask if my life flashed before my eyes....nope, but a big azz white Buick did. Glad to hear you made it through this in one piece. M1911

Glad you are ok but the whole thing sucks! I had ua 13 that got hit in Dec 15 by some high school kid in a Buick(second hit in this blog by a Buick) making a left at an intersection. Frame on mine was twisted but they were going to fix it-Ford makes a front frame section that welds in near firewall, but they have to lift the motor/trans and body to weld it in. Section of frame is 5k from Ford. Bottom line my insurance required repairs to be more than 75% of value to total it. Mine came in at 70% but they considered scrap value of truck in estimates and they ended up totaling it. Good luck with yours,

Seriously though, glad you are ok and everything worked out. It's still frustrating to have to go through that and I'm glad you got a new NICER truck.
