Default Wrangler Tires

I still have the factory Wrangler Fortitude HTs on my 2015 XLT with 35,000 miles on them. Are they a rough riding tire? I don't know It just feels like my truck shimmies/ ticks (not sound, but feeling) a bit when i get up to 60mph, I know the roads aren't great up here in NJ but even on clean pavement I can feel it in the steering wheel and feet, but not enough where I can see it in the steering wheel. Or is it just a that's the way a truck rides kind of thing. I just got the wheels and tire road force balanced but I steel kind of feel it, and the dealer said they didn't find anything. Maybe I'm just over thinking it.

I think they do that... When Ford replaced my flaking wheels, I went ahead and had them replace the Wranglers with a matching set... my truck rides so much smoother now, then it did before.. quieter too!

I've got a couple different sets of tires/wheels for my current truck, thanks to good deals on complete sets of take-offs. Seems like this has always worked well for me when rotating and snow/salt, etc in the winter months. But it's been my experience that the Goodyears really seem to ride better than the Michelins. I have a set of Goodyears on it now, and the set of original Michelins in the garage.

Could be a number of things causing the effect you're seeing now. And it's always possible that it's just a characteristic of the truck, if you're use to driving cars as your past vehicles. And yes, the roads in Jersey leave a little to be desired.

IMHO my stock Wranglers were junk. Terrible ride.

Just sayin. They were the same on my last truck too.

Pecked out on my iPhone.

I've always thought: If you feel it in the steering wheel is 'balance' and if you feel it in your seat it's alignment! Thoughts??

I would agree. The stock wranglers on mine were much the same... vibration, shimmying, jittering going over bumps. I switched them out for a set of Bridgestone duelers and it was the smoothest cushiest ride I've ever had on a truck. Then I went to a set of Michelin primacy (stock for 2018-2019 I think) and the jittery, bouncing, vibrating ride was back.

I have not been impressed with the ride or traction of the Wranglers. I've liked Firestone Destination A/Ts in the past. Good combination of price, ride, traction, and quiet.

Goodyear tires are Good-for-a-year. I sold/installed them for 4 years. I’ll never run a set on anything I own.

Really? I alternated two sets on my ‘11 until I got rid of it at about 130k, then alternated another two sets on my ‘14 until I got rid of it in July, with about 120k on it. I’ve had very good results from all of them. But I also keep an eye on proper psi, frontend alignment, and I rotate them regularly every 5-6000 miles. My Michelins on my ‘18 are ok, but not as good as the Goodyears. FWIW, all of mine have been 18”, except for this current set I’m running, those are 17”.

Like anything else, you hear about varied results I suppose.
