You can get it with the 3.55, there's an error on the build page that doesn't allow you to have the FX4 and Max tow, which gives you the 3.55. You can order it that way though, I did.

Is it, really?
A roughly comparable tow vehicle is the GL. Build that with its base engine (the V6 turbodiesel) and option it roughly like a Lariat with 502A and it's about $75k, compared to $50k-$53k for a 2wd-4wd Lariat. And yes, there were LOTS of options I didn't add on the GL build, there's easily another $8k in options available, perhaps more.

I wish the prices were lower but this is all reminding me of a line from the "Everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen" song. Here is the quote from the song that applies to this thread.
Personally I recall going into a Chevy dealer in the mid 90's and seeing a pickup truck for $33,000 Canadian. I started to gripe at the salesman about how pricey it was and he basically just told me that I obviously hadn't been shopping truck prices recently because that's what they were all running for cost. He was pretty much right as I was expecting to see mid 20's on trucks.
All of that said the price will be what the market will bear. A year ago GM was trying to sell their trucks with no incentives and guess what, it didn't work so they started blowing them out. The market will bear what it can, if we don't like the price we can walk away and buy the competitors truck. I've got a Platinum on order and I know I'll be paying more money at the leading edge and that's just the way it's going to be.

noble and children respected their elders."

The Canadian price for the King Ranch I have configured (essentially all options except for Trailer mirrors, monochromatic paint and chrome package) comes to $77,999 + fees + taxes. Today (last day of Ford's employee pricing) I can buy it for a mere $68,445 +fees + taxes. Imagine the uproar if US customers had pay those kind of prices?
I'll wait. Ford Canada has not put together a single package discount like are available to US customers. But at least now I have Canadian dealer cost for most everything and that is an essential piece of information. At year end I'll give things another look and perhaps order if decent incentives are in place. If not, well my current truck still works.
