I got my Platinum because of the 6.2, 411hp and 434 ft/lb torque make it fun to drive! Honestly I didn’t know they even put it in them unitl I was looking for a truck for a buddy. Found mine and told him that he needed to buy it, he didn’t so I did!

Give me a 7.3 with forced air in a Raptor or a Excursion, it's time they brought it back.

The 7.3 is a pushrod 2 valve engine so it should be a lot smaller around the heads than the Coyote. I wouldn't be surprised if it fit in the F150 or even the Mustang.

Eh, it would be a novelty. But they've sold so hard the EcoBoost brand, they wouldn't abandon it by supplanting the 3.5 as the top engine with such a.......dinosaur.

But, I am intrigued by this engine. I think it could have great performance potential, and may be a great swap candidate for older ford cars.

This thing in the raptor would have me sold. Only reason I didn’t get raptor is because of the embarrassment Tacoma sounding exhaust. I’m not knocking the eco either. I love the motor and down low torque but again the noise is :\

All I know is that hotrodders are gonna love this engine if it makes anywhere near 450hp in truck form...

Hennessy replaced their ecoboost velociraptor with a new 5.0 velociraptor. Expensive but they got it to all hook up and everything works and communicates, not some half *ss swap. Oh, and it’s supercharhed of course...

If Ford had of used their 4V, DOHC technology, they would have had a real powerhouse! I've posted this before, Mercury Marine Engineering developed and built 4V, DOHC heads for the GM LS7, and HP went from 505HP to 775HP:

That is a marine engine correct? If so they are built for crazy high rpm work for sustained periods. Even my old 4.3 GM v6 marine engine will run all day at 4000 plus rpm without breaking a sweat and do it for 20 plus seasons of use. They run cooler and usually run 40wt full synthetic oil to help with all the high rpm work.
