if you were to sell your F150.

Considering adding these because I would like them, but may entertain getting rid of the truck at a later point & wondering if this would be money well spent, or not. or something in-between.

Have heard you can get leather installed in an XLT for roughly a grand and the cost of the warranty through Flood Ford was $1295.

as the years I have been in the business, I don’t believe adding leather will increase value on resale. It will add value towards a sale if the seats were in otherwise not so good shape. Overall what I’ve found helps a truck keep value is keeping it looking as brand new as possible.

It all depends on your buyer and what they see value in. For sure some buyers will not offer you a penny more than a cloth equipped XLT. I myself as a buyer would absolutely pay more for an XLT with Katzkin installed. Cheapest install prices I have seen for the leathers and the labor is about $800. So i would be willing to pay $300-$400 more for a truck with leather. Same is true for a truck with an extended warranty. CPO trucks with extended warranties have a bit more value.

The basic rule of thumb is: Do not ever do a modification to a vehicle and expect to recover a penny of the cost. Do it for your own satisfaction only.

If you are buying the purely for resale, then of course not. Do you need a spiritual lift? Do you not value what you want? It is foolish only to look at additions that you want in terms of resale.

I'm having Katzkin Limited design leather installed in my truck on Monday for $1295. I hadn't really considered ROI, I'm just doing it for functionality (easier to clean) and because I like the look of Katzkin leather.

THIS.
Lost my *** so many times. Never mod a vehicle thinking you get anything back from it. Never happens.
