Default Would you buy a demo or Owners Truck?

looking at a 18 Lariat 502A - found out that it’s the owners wife truck, but they are including a $1.395 destination charge and $995 (dealership) add ons.

Would you ever purchase a demo or in this case one of the owners trucks?

Thanks.

All comes down to price. How much cheaper is it than one with 10 miles?

My thinking is probably backwards here but I dislike the idea of someone being allowed to drive a vehicle and put upwards of 1500-2k miles on it and still sell it as "new" just because it was never titled to a person. If I buy a truck and get a great price and turn around and try to sell it immediately, I will almost never recoup my costs (on a new truck). Why doesn't that truck take the same depreciation hit? I'm curious about how much they are selling it for and if it is really that much better of a deal over a brand new purchase. A lot of people are getting some really good deals right now. To answer your question, I most likely wouldn't buy it. I assume every one else rags out their vehicles, especially a vehicle they have no sense of ownership in. As long as they are selling it as "new" you will pay all the same fees as someone buying new.

I bought one before, the owner of the dealership had been driving it. It was a great truck, never had an issue with it.
I believe it had 8000 miles on it when I bought it (this was in the days of 12000 mile warranties).

I wouldn't but if I was trying to get the most truck for my money and they wanted to discount it in the 15K neighborhood I guess I would look at it.

I see no problem with it. I recently just bought a truck the GM had been driving, it had 1800 miles on it. Truck was in perfect condition. MSRP was $52K walked out the door with it for a little over $35K. If you get a great deal on one take it.

I bought the GM's F-150 with 4800 miles on it. I'm at 20,000 miles without a single issue. They knocked off around $14,500 (also included a spray in bed liner) and since it was "new" I got 0% thru Ford's financing. At the time the discount on a brand new 2016 was $10.000 off MSRP so an extra $4,500 off was worth it for the miles.

I wouldn't hesitate to do that again.

My 2010 was a demo truck, owner's wife drove it. Had around 4k miles when I bought it, got a great deal, MSRP was like $33k, got it for $25k. Never had a single issue with the truck, broke my heart when I got t-boned and insurance totaled it earlier this year.

Mine was a demo. 2016 that MSRP for 54K and i paid a little under 36K plus ford incentive financing. Had about 4K miles on it from what I remember. Owned it about a year and a half and now have 15K miles on it without issues. I also watched the truck online for approx 6 months until they finally kept coming down on price.
