Women Ford F150 owners?
Hello - I'm new to the forum and I'm researching a new vehicle to tow a future camper purchase. Most likely the camper will be sub-5,000 pds in weight. Curious to see if there are any women on the forum that own a Ford F150 and especially if you're using one to tow a camper. Would love to hear your thoughts. Guys - your thoughts more than welcome too.
The truck would likely end up being my daily driver. My current card is a BMW 328i xdrive. I know this is doing a total 180 vehicle wise. Hope to test drive a F150 in the next several weeks to get a better feel if this would be a good move or not.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the club.
Come on in and have a look see. My bet is that if you spend some time behind the wheel of an F150 you will prefer the raised drivers position. Compared to the Bimmer, you will have a more panoramic view of the world.
Either way, let us know what truck you are looking at.
Pecked out from my iPhone.

"my" truck is actually my wife's. I drive the kid hauler Expedition.
We recently purchased a 22 foot TT so my wife will be learning how to drive with a trailer behind it.

Parking will be the challenge. Women who havent grown up driving bigger vehicles seem to struggle with parking, backing up and overall low speed maneuverability. Backing a trailer for some of these folks is an instant fail video. So if u fit this description, it may not be for you. Only you know.

My wife has driven my "baby" once. And I wasn't happy about it. LOL (She tends to be rough on vehicles. I have stories...........)

I have the long wheelbase version of the F-150 and my wife finds it too big to be willing to drive it for fun. For the trailer backing portion, well, I'm no good at it myself yet, so the ladies are most likely at the same level as I am.
The F-150 has the trailer backup system option, this might help quite a bit. I understand that practicing backing up the trailer without computer assistance is the goal, but at least the option is there.
My wife likes riding shotgun in the truck, she finds the feeling of safety is much better than in her small and low car...

I'm a woman and am on my second F150, having just purchased a 2016 XLT. It replaces my 2006 Lariat. Prior to that I had a Tundra, and a Ranger.
I love my F150s! It is my daily driver, and I find the ride comfortable. I don't have trouble parking, lol, and it's a lot easier with the new truck due to the back up camera!
I tow a 7x14 enclosed cargo trailer. I haven't towed with the new truck yet, but with my 2006, I didn't even know it was back there. Fully loaded I'd guess it was around 4000 lb. I did put on a weight distribution hitch. I am going to love the back up assist/camera. No more getting in and out of the truck a half dozen times to line it up with the hitch!
Looking forward to towing with the new truck. The tow mode will work really well, and it has the brake controller built in. I'm pretty good at backing it up, but I'll probably set up the back up assist at some point and give it a try out of curiosity.
I love driving a truck! I enjoy the extra room (I have a supercrew) and it's great for the mulch runs to Home Depot.

Ha, pretty broad generalization! LOL. I knew a woman who could back a horse trailer in between two other vehicles, with maybe 6 inches of space between each. On the first try, every single time. one single sweep. Quite impressive.

You will love an F-150! I just purchased a 2017 Lariat Supercrew that my wife enjoys the ride in better than her Audi A4. She is also extremely comfortable driving it. Was able to back into our garage no problem the first week, which is a feat in itself considering there are inches to spare on all 4 sides to get it to fit. For a truck to ride smoother than a luxury sedan is a perk we both enjoy. I'll save the trucks that ride that "trucks" for work...they have the dents and dings to match
