Wiring into the parking lights
I am a first responder and I am trying to wire in a controller that I have. I have successfully ran the wire from the battery as well as found the ignition wire/circuit in the passenger fuse box (fuse 36). Thanks to the forum.
Now here is my challenge, the controller has a night mode that dims the circuit when a positive 12 volts is applied. I attempted to connect it to the parking light and the thing flickers like a disco (probably a pulsing DC going to the parking lights). So then I looked into the trailer wiring harness and I read on here that is bad idea too because the truck will think it is plugged into a trailer...
What are my options? Is there a better way to do this? I am at a loss here. Is there any clean 12v positive source that is activated when my lights are on?

What about wiring to 12v from a power outlet and putting a switch on it? That way you can get full brightness when you want it and be able to activate night mode when you want it. Does your controller not have a dedicated dimmer button....maybe even a hidden one?
I have a boost gauge back light, raptor 3rd brake light and grill leds wired to my parking lights without issue, many others have tapped them without issue as well, not sure why you think they are pulsing dc?
Only thing I can think of is maybe you tapped into the HL wire instead, as it has PWM, and you may get results like you described.
