Default Will you buy a self driving F150?

So Ford plans on releasing a self driving F150 in 2021. Just wondering how people feel about this.

http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2017/12/...ving-tech.html

I looked this up because I was looking at the tesla hybrid 18 wheeler, rig, whatever you wanna call it.

Some of the technology is already in it. Lane keep assist, BLIS, adaptive cruise control, self parking and trailer assist to name a few.

So it's definitely coming. Will it really be in a few years, I don't know, but we will be seeing it 8n the not to distant future.

So will you let your next F150 drive you around?

F150? Dunno.... What I REALLY want is for them to perfect the technology in the next ten years before I retire and then get it in a nice class A motorhome!

Fuel it up, tell the onboard computer, “head for the Grand Canyon”, then go sit in a leather recliner and watch TV with a sammich in hand in air conditioned comfort.

I like the idea also. That's not far from reality.

Since I use my truck as a mobile office, I’d get one once it’s proven safe. That would allow me to get some work done while going down the highway. As long as it still has all the controls so I can still drive it when needed (at the ranch or off-road)...then I see no downside. Plus, once everyone has a self driving vehicle, I’ll probably get around faster since most folks seem to be pretty poor at driving.

Hi, YES. Some day I might not be physically able to drive anymore, or just too old to drive by myself. I still need to get around.

The reason I have a pick-up truck is so that I can pick stuff up. If I want to enjoy a ride then I’ll take the Harley or the Mustang and head out of the city. Besides, the technology package isn’t really for me... it’s for the idiots driving and talk on their phones trying to kill me.

If it is anything like the Tesla I would get one. They drive themselves, but not entirely. It's more of an advanced cruise control, which would be nice on road trips.

I also don't understand why anyone wouldn't want this, assuming it works perfectly (if a malfunction is what you are worried about, I am completely on board with not wanting a self driving truck). I love driving my truck as much as the next guy, but I've done 16 hour drives and I would much some help from my trusty truck to do it.
