Mine is a 2012 Scab and the AC barely keeps the cabin cool. Time to get a 2014 I think

Dude at work has a '14 and his A/C is the same as my step father's.

Ford tells me mine is in specifications but I have to roll down the window most days in summer because it feels better than the A/C.

edit: dude in my old neighborhood has a '11 STX with a craptastic A/C too.

I've tried wrapping the pipes but it didn't help.

Small sample, etc, I get it. But something is definitely different in the '13/'14

Your AC feels good because the system isnt stressed. We get hot temps in phoenix. You saying your ac is great is like me saying the heater in the F150 is great even though its never been exposed to freezing temps.

We end up taking the wifes Infiniti in the summer because we dont feel like sweating in the truck.

I love my F150 but the ac is a deal breaker for my next truck, my last GMC would blow 28 degree air out of the vents, mid 40s does not cut it when its 118 outside.

Not hating. My AC with the 2012 ecoboost did not seem to work as well as it should. With the 6.2 the AC works fine.

I have a 13 eco screw cab and the AC is too damn cold. Its great on high for a 10 minute trip but if I'm in the cab for more than 15 minutes I have to turn it down to low. More than a half hour I turn it off and on because it gets so cold, this is on 90+ degree days. And I sweat a lot, A LOT, so this isn't me being a weirdo that likes it hot. I keep my house on 68 in the summer.

I know several people with 09+ trucks and the a/c isn't near as good as it is in my 05. It seems like it takes about 15 minutes to cool off but by that time your so hot it takes another 15 for you to cool down. I will say GM has really good a/c in there vehicles.

It seems the weak ac is on '11 and '12 years mostly. I tell ye, in Deep South, we MUST have good cooling. Just like y'all boys in Minnesota need heat.

Has anyone figured out the root cause for poor ac performance? Is it limited to ecoboost trucks or does it cover multiple engines? If it is just the eco is it an issue related to the cooling stack design with the intercoolers?

My 09 and 10 5.4 sucked bad. Dealer said it was in the ford specs. 13 eco is pretty good even with the biggrr cab.

It doesnt make sense. One would think all the trucks have the same system. I have an 11 5.0 screw and it cools great. Even stop and go in the city it keeps the vehicle cool.

The '13-'14s may have the same system but they're tuned or programmed differently. You can literally hear the difference. Ford heard the complaints and made a silent tweak to the A/C in the trucks, plain and simple.
