Why has Ford taken such a big step backwards?

One other thing they have gone backwards on, also interior, the floor mats are a joke. I'm going to have to purchase aftermarket in this truck.

I expect the F150 to be superior to the Tundra in every way. They always have been. I think those of us that have owned numerous generations of F150s see some things that are a step backwards from prior generations. At current price levels I don't expect anything to be step backwards. I have wrinkles in one of my headrests. I saw several trucks at the dealer with wrinkles in the seats. That is not 50k build quality for any vehicle. But like I said, other things are way better than any prior generation.

I had a 2011 Fx4 Lux which is comparable now to my lariat sport. As far as interior size, hands down the 15 feels bigger. The interior design on it looks so much nicer then any of the competitors, I test drove Chevy/GMC, Dodge and Toyota, only one that was even in the ball park was the Dodge (for interior, the rest of the truck, not so much). Compared to my 2011 the 15 interior is definitely a step up. But they definitely cheeped out on the seats all around, they are not as comfortable as the 2011. The seat AC was a step backwards for sure.
Now on the doors, my drivers side doors exhibits the separation at speeds starting around 45 or so, it also will move and rattle like its not closed all the way and is nosier than my focus inside. That pisses me off and have been trying to get it corrected now for 5 months, no luck.
2.7L is an awesome motor, I had a 5.0 in the 2011, my buddy has the 3.5TT in his 2013 both those set ups netted us between 15.5 and 17 mpg commuting to work. My 2.7 nets me 19.5-21 and feels just as peppy as the other two engines, maybe even a little more peppy. Throw it into sport mode and its a whole nother beast.
Love the truck, but the one Ive had has been in the shop almost 40 days in 6 months and still cant get everything fixed. I may be off loading it and getting into a 16, hopefully the fit and finish is better. I would look at a different brand but really Ford has a great package, just lacked in quality control in the earlier builds, mine was an early April build.

Interesting, the body being really tight on mine is one place I give this truck props. The body and doors on mine are tight.
My 06 the interior was the bomb. I remember the day I bought it I thought man this is how trucks should be built.

While I don't own a '15, I do believe the engineering is solid. The problem is the manufacturing process and assembly. Those of you that have doors that don't align, have wind noise, are hard to shut, or can see the sky through a gap have components that are likely out of spec. The stampings are off. The sad part is, no amount of adjustment will fix that for those that are way out.

I came from a E-Class Mercedes and I think the F150 has a nicer ride. It's a bank vault (extremely quiet), rides very smoothly and has a ton of power throughout the RPM range.
I've never seen a car or truck with more rear legroom in my supercrew and I definitely don't feel tight up front in the driver seat.
I did read some early 2015 models had issues with door alignment, mine has no issues. However, I don't really think that impressions from a rental car which gets bruised, battered and beat on is a good way to judge a new model.
