I agree! Chevy/GMC has to place the coils there because of the plug location next to the exhaust ports. This is due to pushrods, and 2 valves/cylinder. No DOHC, or 4 valves/cylinder like Ford.

GoproAtl has plenty of FU $$$ like he said to buy sheet like an engine cover. Wow.... Must be nice to be able to afford something as pricey as that

This thread is comical. But I like it. Entertainment value better than the price of an engine cover.
Couldn't you put rims, tires, lifts, tunes, etc. in your category? These items are all provided from the factory and replacing them could be considered as "not necessary"! However, people work hard for their money and spend it however they want. To each, their own. People have been dressing up engines since the beginning of the auto. Get over it!

Dress it up all you want with glitter and pixie dust if you want.

Looks great. How hard was it to do and what parts did you use?

Looks great!!

Could you please address the following concerns that have been brought up on this thread?

1. Did the added weight negatively affect your MPG?
2. Do you notice that your engine runs hotter thus affecting your power output?
3. Was the financial strain a difficult hurdle?
4. Do you feel that you need to pop the hood more often to justify this mod? Are you compelled to show it off everywhere you go?
5. Do you feel remorse for covering the beautiful coyote engine in its natural state?

Would something like this work?

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-OEM-2010-...1T9kqI&vxp=mtr

2015 sierra I had before this was the same, no engine cover. Lots of guys used the Cadillac engine covers.

I don't think any are 100% serious but DAMN funny! It looks great - not remotely close to Pixie dust, neon or Whale tales. Very tasteful mod indeed!!
