Don't need the extra square footage 99.9% of the time.

I had the longer bed in my Silverado before trading it in and never really used the space. When I bought my f150 I didn't care what bed it had

Standard garage is 20'. Dealers have figured out what combinations are most popular over the years and stock their lots with that. The SuperCrew with a long bed is just a bit too long for most people.

5.5ft bed looks better IMO and does what I need it to do... tows my trailer just fine... I'm on my 3rd one and never once wished I had the extra foot

What a douchey way to ask a question/subtly insult people that don't prefer what you prefer.

Most people don't, because of the mental association to an all white, regular cab, work truck. It is the same reason being pale was cool because it meant you didn't have to work in the fields/outdoors. Then being tan was cool, because you could afford a lifestyle that allowed you to not be indoors all day long, under fluorescent lighting.

To fit my go kart in the bed without taking the bumper off or using a bed extender I ordered the 6.5.

I traded my 2012 Ram 1500 quad cab with a 6'6" bed for a 2016 Platinum super crew with a 6'6" bed and since the cab of the F150 is larger it made the over all length of the truck about a foot longer...i don't regret buying the longer truck but I was a little surprised about how much more space I needed to turn around or even to turn a tight corner... I've only had it a week but I'm getting used to it

Personal preference and differing needs means different bed lengths, payloads, towing capacity, and cab configurations will be best suited for different truck purchasers. Why not just ask why we don't all get two C-Max Hybrids or Fiestas for the price of one F150?

I ordered the 6.5 as it is required for the Heavy Duty Payload package SuperCrew.
