Default Why do I have a weird gear shifter?
Its weird to me - I just bought a 2017 f150 xlt and it has the shifter on the steering column, is this normal? its a 10 speed.

xlt with 302a, 3.5l eco, elec 10 speed, trailer tow, fx4 off road package, 40console40.

Because you didnt get one with the option floor shifter..... The Sport pkg includes the floor shifter.

So even though its a 10 speed - its the same gear box etc as the 'floor' shifter.

Thank you - you've set my mind at ease - I was worried i didn't have the new 10 speed with the 3.5 ecoboost - I should have done more homework but I was shopping for a ram and just decided I better check the f150 - accidentally left with one.

If a VIN-specific windows sticker was wrong, that'd be false advertising in some shape or form.

does your shifter have a plus and minus button?

press the plus and see if the numbers 1-10 appear on the instrument panel screen.
