Mine did it for the second time today. Base 301A system with 4 inch screen.

Back up camera was non functional, as well.

The first time it happened, the truck was remote started.

Today was with the key.

The previous time, I called the local dealership who seemed ignorant of the issue and said they couldn't see me unless it wasn't working when I brought it in. Knowing that it was an intermittent problem, I captured it video today with me pressing all the buttons and shifting into reverse.

We'll see.

So......it seems that under certain conditions (which I have yet to replicate), ejecting a CD can brick the vehicle's sound system...until you stick another CD in..... Weird.....[/QUOTE]

Good to know, compatability issue between sync 3 and massively outdated tech, good thing they didn't include a cassette. Haha

I got my special ordered truck in April 2016. I had the no audio issue one time when the truck had about 500 miles. Drove about 20 miles in silence trying to get it back on. Finally pulled over and turned truck off and opened door. Got back in after a few minutes and the radio worked.

It has not had the issue since that day in April. I now have about 7K miles. Strange how this problem is persistent in some trucks but not others. I also did not have my Sirius antenna replaced because I also like others here, feared bad workmanship with the headliner for something I wasn't going to use anyway. Each time Sirius called me I listened to their sales pitched and offered to pay $12.00 a year. I told them that is what I thought it was worth. Funny, they never took me up on my offer!

I was scheduled for an oil change today and was hoping to go in with the issue live. As it turned out, I had the problem when I took my daughter to school but when I left for my appointment it was working just fine. I shut the truck off and got out a couple times. I upgraded my Sync 3 w/ Nav from 1.0 to 2.2 over the weekend and when I got to the dealer I asked them to reprogram the audio control module and told them what was happening and referenced SSM 45945. A couple stops on the way home but no issues so far. I will update as I can if anything changes or it works fine from here out.

There is a fix at Ford for it. Do you use your autostart? I was having this happen since August in my 2016. I took it to a local dealership and Ford found an issues when you use the autostart from your FOB it can mess up your audio. They fixed it with a dealership firmware update.

It has been great these last 3 weeks with no audio issues. Now if only my Carplay would work... LOL.

Yes it happened to me today. I was listening to Sirius and the audio went dead. Tried to switch to AM and FM and nothing happened. Hit CD and it said no disk so at least there was some response. Put in a disk and the unit began playing. Ejected disk and tried Sirius and the other modes. All now work. Weird!

Update, it's been 10 days, I've tried a few things that seemed to always get the Audio off issue to show it's head (multiple remote starts over a short period of time. Making multiple short stops where I turned the truck off. So far it's been solid since my dealer did the SSM. I will say my service writer was completely unaware of the issue but he listened to me when I described it, asked questions and when I informed him of the SSM went and looked it up and didn't just brush it off.

My Sirius trial ran out and using just the am / fm radio for about a month no radio issues or quiet driving (radio not powering on). I do not miss the satellite radio either to be honest.

This garbage radio is resetting itself now and I've been getting the runaround from my dealership's service department, is Ford Customer service reading this? When you spend over $60k on a truck you expect it to work.

I have had my 16 Lariat for almost a year and mine locked up several times when I first drove it, I spoke to the service guys and they didnt have a clue, so they disconnected the battery, which forced a master reset on the whole truck and so far I have not had any more problems with the radio.
