Who wants a Focus based pickup truck?

This is the next logical option for Ford. Small SUV's have finally outsold sedans, Ford is discontinuing sedans, and this will appeal to those who want the SUV with a small, exposed bed. The truck for those that really don't want a truck.

I supervised a fleet of company pool vehicles.
The KIA's we had were absolutely bulletproof. They don't have high end suspension or interiors, but their running gear is built very well. They were more reliable than any of our other brands.
The GM vehicles were either very solid or lemons. Their ABS systems would fail and impossible to restore. I had two Astros that had to be sent to salvage because no one on earth could repair the ABS. I had many Express vans that went 300K miles with nothing but regular maintenance.
The Dodge vans were powerful and handled well loaded but their transmissions were complete junk.
The Ford products were pretty much trouble free. No pattern of any repeating failures. The Fords front end will not last as long as a GM.
All these were pool vehicles and literally ran to death.
The king of longevity was the Crown Vic.
Pecked out on my iPhone.

They should do something with the explorer. I don’t see the point of a truck bed there,, not like you’ll be sliding heavy tall pallets and hooking up a goose neck.
AWD HD Exploder stretched 6-12 inch with tough spray in bedliner in the cargo bay and actual tailgate with hatch that flips up high and is removable. 5000lb towing and 1500 payload. Would work for most everyone here.
Ok Ford, pay me.

I don't know like someone else said - there are people that still kept them and intend to keep them. Same with the Chevy Avalanche. They are sort of similar.

Not even close to the same. I owned an Avalanche for 14 years. Probably the most versatile truck made, and the midgate made the vehicle. The Sport Trac was a mid size vehicle with a too-small bed.
