Default Who uses a hitch mounted bumper guard?

I'm trying to protect the bumper of my 2018 XLT Sport.. I was looking at the Hitch Hammer, and the Bully Black Bull rear hitch mounted steps/guards.. Anyone have either one? Thoughts on them? Have a different one that you recommend? Where I work is mostly parallel parking, and I know it's a matter of time before my truck is involved in an unsolicited game of bumper cars.. Thanks guys!

I have the Smittybuilt Beavertail. Not really wanting someone to hit it but more of a visible deterrent. That being said it is a solid chunk of very heavy steel. I also like that I can use it to tie off a strap, etc when i need to.

I have the Hitch Hammer and love it. Just have to remember it's not a step. Seems to be good quality, plus I don't see too many of them .

Weather Tech here. One tail gater found it quite destructive

I have this too, really like it. My kids use it as a seat. Though I just traded up to this
Amazon Amazon
after seeing another truck with a beavertail basically just slice through the front of a tailgater and damage the truck anyway - didn't have enough surface area to repel the blow haha.

I also went with the Weathertech BumpStep. Not so much as a full impact protector, but to act as a fuse for lower speed hits that might get the bumper cover or backup sensors. I figured it was a good sub-$50 insurance policy. Oh, and it works pretty good as a step too.

just an FYI folks. These solid steel things you're thinking prevent damage just do more to transmit the energy thru the hitch and directly to the frame. Rear bumpers are designed to absorb impact energy rather than transfer it through to the most rigid components of the truck.

The hitch hammer....is that thing plastic? A couple years in the FL sun here and it would probably crumble like peanut brittle being hit by a hammer.
