So many people hating Ford because they can't turn off their Auto start-stop and it will stay off next time to turn on the key. At least you have a button and a way to disable it permanently. So far the GM crowd haven't found a way to disable it and they don't have the off button.

It's not a button, it's a momentary switch, but it it should be an off button.

Ford isn't going to change it. If you don't like it, mod it, disable it in forscan or don't buy a Ford. Pretty simple. Dozens of pages of bitching about it isn't going to change anything for you.

you're right in one respect. Mod it, whatever you need, if you wish to stop it.

But the market feedback, and the customer is king. If this doesn't go well in the market, Ford will do a back flip. (though I doubt it'll happen so soon. I'm sure this factors in the mileage report thingy and they're banking some of it).

I don't think the Market feedback depicts nearly as many people that hate it as the few loud and constant voices on here. It's really not that big of a deal. I don't know how this can have such control over people's lives. They aren't removing it from model lineups, they're adding it to and it's not new to market this year. I'm guessing they have the feedback they need.

you actually took the time to count them LOL. how about you give me a character count and a brief synopsis of each as well. Most them are probably asking, what's the big deal?

That's a bit dramatic.

If it saves me money at the gas pump, and lessens needless idling and pollution (ever been stuck in the drive-thru for 5 minutes?) then I'm all for it. My wife's '17 Escape has it and it's not a big deal. The double honk and fake engine noise is far more annoying.

I like the sport mode strategy so no I do not use auto stop start. I’ll eventually disable it, but for now I can control it with my foot or my finger. Would it be sweet to be able to control it better like permanently turn off or default to a particular drive mode? ...absolutely but it’s also not such a big deal that I’ll bitch about it endlessly on a thread like this haha.
