And I haven't even seen it yet; I can't imagine Ford to screw up what they do know how to do very well, which is make trucks.

I just picked up a 2011 platinum and i dont see it going anywhere anytime soon. plus id like to wait a few years for any potential bugs to get worked out. id say in two years id be ready to buy. by then the current truck will have anywhere between 100 to 150k so ill be in the market again.

I am a Machinist by trade and an Manufacturing Engineering student. Most of my engineering and machining teachers over the years are/have worked directly with the auto industry. I have worked for automotive suppliers also. To a man, we all have similar feelings that you do. I actually see first hand just with the suppliers that I worked at the quality of what is sold and installed on the cars we as consumers buy. I find it appalling sometimes what gets passed off to the consumer. Vendors are pressured to lower prices, but at some point, quality suffers to meet the unit prices and production numbers needed. I hate dealing with the auto industry on the vendor level. Add on to the fact the lack of accountability on the customers part and you get what you get. Most of my work life has been with DoD and aerospace and what is accepted and tolerated is night and day.
That being said, I won't be getting rid of my '13 screw anytime soon, unless they blow me away with the Expedition redesign and make it financially reasonable to do a swap. Even with improvements to efficiently, the cost of rolling over the difference of what is owed on what I have now will swallow up whatever gains made in the new design over what I have now.

They probably won't rebate or work on price as much on the new model as they are now on 2013's. I purchased my 2013 last year and do plan on keeping it at least 2-3 years unless a great deal pops up. (Usually I get in trouble during a routine oil change/maintenance when I go looking at the trucks on the lot). But with a new model, I am not sure how the rebates/deals will be, so that will probably make me wait 2-3 years.

I plan on keeping this 2012 FX2 and paying it off to keep. I have 16,500 miles so it should last a while. The wife and I decided we will test drive a 2015 mustang GT to see what we think about it. Love the new design as far as looks go. Wife's CRV will be paid off this year and when my truck is paid off we plan on getting a low mileage used GT if price is feasible over new, which it should be. Time will tell and show any issues with them.

I'll be keeping my 2011 until it blows up, or my stereo rattles it apart. But, it'll be paid off in another 2 years, right around the time I finish school. Maybe a '16 will be a graduation present to myself. Hmmmm...
