Default white covers over front rotors on new f-150

I just received my new 2018 F-150 today and noticed a cheap looking white cover over the front brake assemblies. What is this for and is it something that should of been removed during dealer prep. It covers the rotors and callipars and seems to be made of a cheap plastic.

Yep supposed to be removed by dealer, it is there for shipping only.

Yes it should have been removed in prep. The covers are to protect the rotors from iron dust during rail shipment. I had the same question when I saw a set on the floor while at the dealer. They are disposable. You might want to go back and have them removed since they aren't high temp plastic and can warp or melt with hot brakes.
