Where to install trumpet horns?
I got these electric trumpet horns, good sound BTW. I thought they would fit where the factory horns are between the grill and radiator, but now I see it's too tight in there. Any idea where else I can put them?
Also, I'd like the new horn to replace the OEM horns and work normally off the steering wheel. Can I just disconnect the OEM horns and use the same wires for the new horn? Or do I need some kind of relay?

I've been wondering where to install my air horn as well. I have a Grover horn that I'm going to power off a paintball HPA tank with a regulator (FAR easier to plumb, and I don't expect to be leaning on it constantly plus only $5 to fill at a paintball shop).
I think I'm going to make a bracket for mine and put it on the passenger side frame rail. That seems to be the only place that you can install a long horn and have it oriented forwards. Depending on your truck there's usually room under the front bumper to place a horn like that, but you would have to orient it either left or right and I don't know how that would impact the sound. You would also have to get creative with a bracket.
As far as using the wiring from the existing horns, I would use an ammeter and run your electric horn and determine how many amps it's pulling. I'd say use a relay if it's any more than 5 amps constant.

Orient the horns facing down. Tarmac is a really good reflector, and also omni-directional, giving you the strongest output over the widest area.

I wouldn't install the horns facing forward. More chance of water/mud/debris/insects ending up inside the horn. Direction doesn't affect sound.

You could try using the existing horn leads. It looks like the circuit is powered from a 25 amp fuse (F43) in the BJB under the hood. The yel/red is your hot and the blk/gry is your ground. See attached diagram.

did they come off your boat? maybe they should be on your boat. Just you know - sayin
aside from there I assume they take some power to work so I would figure you'll need a stand alone relay to the battery for the current draw - and then use your stock horn connection wires to fire off the battery relay.
At least that's a guess based on not knowing the draw of the devices.
However - they look like they belong on a boat.

The Viking V400-SS horn works fine off the steering wheel wired directly to the factory horn wires, but not really louder than the stock Ford F150 horn see comparison video. The tone of the Viking horn is deeper (stock is wimpy with the hood closed) and since it's already installed I'll keep it. There was no room behind the grill so I attached it to the plate at the bottom of the radiator with the 3 supplied bolts. Interestingly there were two holes already there in perfect position so I only had to drill one.
