Wheel Well Liners (Husky, Pendaform, OEM, etc)
 

I would like to purchase and install some wheel well liners. I was originally set on the Husky liners since they seem to cover move than the OEM version. I thought that was a good thing, then I noticed that the Husky covers up the bolt to the shock and the OEM does not. I was wondering if this might be an issue if/when the truck is in for service (they might have to remove...i.e. damage...the liners if they have to remove them to get to the shocks).

Questions:
- Are there any differences worth noting (aside from price) between the various brands of wheel well liners?
- Thoughts on covering up the bolt area on the shock (which would make it more difficult to service)?
- I've heard that Pendaform makes the OEM versions, but it looks to me that their are slight differences between the Pendies and the Ford OEM versions. For instance, the Pendies appear to have molded tabs/flanges whereas I do not see those on the Ford versions. They look like a weak area.

I can't tell you the differences or whether the shock bolt should be covered or not. after reading a ton of posts about the Huskies and fitment issues, I went with the OEM from one of the forum sponsors. The fit was perfect and they went in without any problem. I know that some people had no problem with the husky liners and some did, but it was just easier to order OEM for the small difference in cost.

I am seeing a $40 difference in price between the OEM and the rest of the brands. Got a better source?

OEM - $145 ish (ebay and Amazon)
Husky - $106
Pendaform - $90 ish
Rough Country and others - $99

I put on the Husky's the other day and will say the driver's side went in like a dream. The passenger side had me cussing up a storm with a heat gun and dead blow hammer. I wouldn't want to do it again.

Being in Canada, our prices are different on all brands and the OEM's were the best price, right from my local dealer. All I will say is the OEM fit is perfect, don't even have to remove the wheel, simple install.

Strange. They want to charge me $230 for shipping to Texas.

They sell wheel liners and highway robbery.
Every other place on the planet ships them for "free".

I went back and checked who I bought from and you are right, I had the same experience with fordpartsgiant. It was completely preposterous, especially given the fact that they weigh very little. I wound up buying on Amazon Prime for the free shipping, regardless of Bezos' racy pics.
