This is what's left of my truck

Most likely but if that is the case you need Allstate. When my daughter came home from the Sandbox she got 30 days leave and promptly jumped in my Tundra and headed home. She ran into snow and totaled the truck. Allstate got an immediate rental car and tow to a garage. The next day the insurance adjuster was there and called me
"Good news and bad new"
"OK"
"Trucks toast, we are going to total it"
"Ok"
"It's 10yrs old but we are booking it at $16,500. You will have the check in a week"

2. And another Hoooaahh!! for how trucks maintain a high value.
I sold my 2002 F150 a few months ago, on it's last legs for 4K. And woulda kept it (and rebuilt/fixed it up) if it were 4WD.

That wreck is what led me to buy a used F150 that I am constantly fixing and this forum which is helping me do it. I'm learning more than I needed to ever know about fixing a truck but without this forum I'd be dead in the water and out who knows how many thousands of dollars

Lock up the perps
Sorry about both trucks posted here being damaged or destroyed. Mean people truly suck the big one.

So sorry to read about your truck, really sucks that some low-life would do such a thing. Hope to read that your insurance gave you a generous settlement to cover something equally nice.

He's my co-worker and just about six months ago had an incident. He lives in a gated community but there were "roamers" around in the early hours one morning. His truck and wife's Suburban (two years old) were in the garage, but his son's Jeep Wrangler was in the driveway. The lurkers broke into the Jeep and cleaned it out. One of them noticed the remote (portable kind) clipped to his visor.
There's video of him going down the driveway, behind the neighbors plants and using the remote to open their garage. After it opens, he waits several minutes to see if there's any response and for the light to go out, then goes in. My buddy says he heard something about 4AM, but thought it was their icemaker in the utility room.
As luck would have it (dumb luck), the wife left the keys in the Suburban, as well as her purse!!! Gone is the 'burban and still no one knows it, and the gates to the development open automatically upon departing but there's also video there of two guys in it. I will skip all the part about waking in the morning to a wide-open garage, no vehicle, purse and credit cards gone, and knowing someone had been in the garage just a door away from them (they do have a house alarm).
He files his police report; after several weeks the police believe it is either parted out, or gone south and anyway his insurance is settling. Meantime a guy is caught on video at several stores trying to use her credit cards (now cancelled) so they know what the thief looks like. With what they got from State Farm they were able to make a deal on a new ride, and they made out almost with nothing out-of-pocket due to some discounts and dealing.
About ten days after they get their new ride, police call and want them down at the station. Seems the main perp was still around and driving the 'burban! He's now in jail and the cops wanted them to claim the dirty-but-undamaged vehicle, but he says it's no longer his as it belongs to State Farm now. A pretty happy ending considering but could have been really bad if these two guys decided to also come in the house.
Important takeaways - keep the remotes out of the vehicles in the driveway; don't leave keys (and important valuables) in the vehicles even in the garage (they had to change their house locks too since those were on her key ring); and have something that tells you the garage is opening. He's a former Marine and I'm retired Army so we are both now prepped, armed and ready if someone tries it again.

you have replacement insurance, which should cover a newer year vehicle. 2017 or 2018 are choices if you want. Order a 2018 with the same options and have the insurance pay for it. I keep replacement insurance on new vehicle for the first 5 years of their life with me. I get a new vehicle if this ever happens.
Aluminum will actually melt and burn if the temps are high enough and it looks like yours were. What didn't melt are the radiator hoses, maybe because they were full of coolant?
