Question What tires are you running?

This is my second set of tires, I have the BFGoodrich AT KO2 275/65/R18 and they are starting to wear down so I'm shopping for a new set.

My take away from these tires are they are too stiff for the aluminum bodied F150's. They also have very little traction on wet pavement (maybe because of the light weight of the truck?)

I don't do any serious off roading, but I do travel through fields sometimes either cutting wood, hunting, fishing, etc. I also sometimes haul pretty decent loads in my truck which I think would strain the OE tires.

So what do you run for a good all around but maybe leaning towards a more aggressive tire that isn't too stiff?

Been running Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT in 275/60R20 115H for the past ~4K miles. Been really decent, especially in the snow and ice (3PMSF rated).

Have you run a different LT tire to compare these to? The KO2 is kind of the gold standard for off-roaders, including plenty of Jeeps, Tacomas, Rangers, and more that weigh less than a 4x4 quad cab truck. There are lots of complaints about poor wet traction with KO2s, especially as they age.

Any P-rated tire will have more than enough load capacity to cover the full payload of a half ton truck.

I haven't run any other LT tires other than the OE tires. I have used the BFGoodrich AT KO2's on a 2007 Silverado I used to have and thought they were great.
These have spun on wet pavement since day 1.
Good to know about the P rated tires having enough payload.

I’ve always stayed away from the KO2 for that reason.

my preferred tire is the Wildpeak AT4.

just fyi, in new tire tests, the KO3 ranks pretty close if you wanted to stick with Bfgoodrich

I put a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3s on my first F150 just before I traded it. Great tires. Excellent in snow and on slick roads, and were surprisingly smooth and quiet on the highway, considering they have a fairly aggressive tread. Would definitely recommend them.

My SIL had KO2’s on his 2015 F150. He got a lot of miles out of them, but they became pretty rough and noisy later in their tread life.

I received many recommendations on the forum for running Michelin Defender LTX M/S2. I then purchased a set last July and so far love them. They have been great driving on dry, rain, snow and ice. All my off road use is fairly mild but they have been fine. They are very quiet with good handling characteristics imo. They are not’ however inexpensive (imo) but so far feel they are worth the money.

Been really happy with these, especially for the price. Good in the snow on the farm too.

Have 315/70/17 Falken AT4W on, replacing Toyo ATIII. Both excellent tires, but the Falkens seem to be better on packed snow/ice. Other two vehicles have Falken AT3W, but those are discontinued since the 4W came out.
Have had the KO2's, I hated them, Dura-Tracs, great in snow, suck on ice, never had a set of Coopers last very long. Hankook, er, hanggook, I hated those more than the KO2's.
