Anyone swapped out their stock tires to E load range (aka 10 ply *I think*) tires? Wondering how much the ride quality deteriorates. I have a buddy that won't run anything less than 10 plys, since he swears they make a night and day difference in towing stability.

Thoughts?

Your buddy likes the 10 plys because the sidewalls are stiffer so when towing heavy there is a lot less vehicle sway.

10 plys are worth getting of you do a lot of towing or worry about sidewall punctures. I've run 10 plys on my Pathfinder and they definitely effect ride, but they also are freaking bullet proof.

Definitely overkill for most drivers though, including me haha

My XL SC came with Goodyear Kevlar A/T LT245 75R 17 load range E tires. I have never bought even a 3/4 ton pickup that had such a nice set of tires installed from the factory. Ride is okay, inflation pressure is about 51 psi. I have some property that is covered with Mesquite, cactus and all manner of thorny prickly stuff! The heavy construction of these tires is very welcome.

Where can I find that selection when ordering my f150 Platinum, the appearance package? I might like that look/option and want to add to the bill
