FORD lifer
No Government Motors cars for me - regardless of the price - I'd say something used until the new Ranger comes out. Even then who knows if the new gen Rangers and Broncos will be as small as the old ones.

Frontier is about 8 years overdue for a rework. My dad's 2011 Frontier has about the worst turning radius I've ever experienced. Even worse than my 1994 4runner. Other than that, the VQ40DE in it is bulletproof and reliable....but just about every other truck out is a better option.

My co-worker has a 2016 Colorado LT crew Midnight Edition
Brother-in-law has a 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport ext cab
Both are 2wd automatics
Having driven both, I'd give the slight edge to a 6spd manual Tacoma crew, overall just liked how it drove a bit more than the Colorado. Or, I'd look for a really clean used Tacoma X-Runner.
But, after having my F150 SCrew for about 9 months, I don't know if I could downsize to a mid-size truck.

Knock a hole in the wall, your wife doesn't need all that kitchen space
