Default What does it mean when

Hi folks. I have a 2017 Lariat 5.0.
Sometimes when I enter the truck the horn sounds twice.
I used Forscan years ago to disable the double honk.
Can't find meaning anywhere?

My truck does this sometimes. I believe it's part of the function that warns you that you've left a set of keys in the truck.

Yeah it's to remind you that your fob is in the truck.

Although it's on my wife's Traverse, we get a double honk when we get in with the keys and it's not running. Same thing when it IS running and we get off with the keys left in the console or something.

I don't remember hearing my horn sound when I ENTER the vehicle. I have disabled a few of the horn sounds, but hearing it when I get in doesn't ring a bell.

Of course the big complaint is the double honk when exiting and FOB is left inside but that sounds to be a different thing than you are discussing.

I guess for conversation sake, OP can you please tell us if your FOB is in the vehicle before you get in (like you are the person who leaves their FOB in the vehicle at all times).

My fob is always in my pocket. Never leaves my pocket. The spare fob is zip tied to my wife's purse. It double honked today when I got in the truck and the wife's purse was in the house. It is just weird, but heck, so am I. I cannot replicate the problem. I have never left a fob in my truck.

My real concern is the late hours when I come in from playing pool. Don't want to wake people up next door.

OP says he disabled double honk, which typically refers to this double honk when leaving the fob in.

Why would you wake your neighbors late at night (even if you weren't playing pool).
You state the problem is when you enter the vehicle, not exit. Do you make it a habit to come home late then enter the vehicle again?

I believe if the alarm had gone off at some point when entering the truck afterwards the horn will honk letting you know the alarm had gone off.
