Those look great! I was originally going to just buy new taillights but I thought for $5 Id give this a try first. If they hold up then problem solved. If not I'm only out a couple $$
I kind of just eye balled it and cut a piece for just the chrome part but a little bigger, stuck it on then trimmed it back to where I wanted it. The chrome part is recessed a bit so that helps get it right. I then cut out the reverse light. I didn't try cutting out the reverse light first because I was afraid it would get to flimsy when installing.
You might get a few wrinkles, so a heat gun comes in handy
You have a 2017 right? If so you taillights are different aren't they? The chrome just runs along the perimeter. I imagine that would be a lot easier to work with
I was hoping that was the way you did it. Just like you said my lights only will need the chrome along the perimeter done. The chrome part of the light is very slightly indented (probably the thickness of the vinyl or slightly more) which should act as a guide for trimming the vinyl. I'm going to order the vinyl and give it a shot! If I can't get it right I'm not out much more than my time and I have a lot of that! Stay tuned John I may be contacting you to get dagojoe's contact info if I can't do this! James1980 thank you for sharing this with all of us and answering questions. It is appreciated.
Came out nice, I did mine with Testor paint last September and so far it's holding up pretty good. You're in Cali so the vinyl should hold up weather wise.
Mines a '17, and like you, I hated the chrome outlines. I wound up buying some LED tails without the chrome, and another member here, DagoJoe, wrapped them for me with some light grey film. I failed twice with the wrapping, so just left someone that knew what he was doing do it.
If I had thought about the red transparent vinyl, I'd likely have done that, much cheaper, and looks great.
John that sure is one fantastic looking truck you have there! Very well thought out and tastefully done.
After 16 months of ownership, today I was finally looking in to the windshield washer tank and thought I wanted to buy some to top it up. Only time it was done it was a "freebie" when doing maintenace at the dealership, back in September and even then it was basically at the neck. Didn't use it much, but wife drove it several days recently and she has a promise to keep alive every washer fluid factory in the world, so I use gallons on her van and now I was doing some research to find the right one for the 150.
I read something about fluids that damage the fluid level sensors and got doubtful. I want -40°C to -50°C capable best stuff and am pondering on the Rain-X green de-icer, but also read negative reviews about streak film and fog being formed...
No matter how I typed it, Forum search returned couple hours of reading nothing useful for my needs - unfortunately! However I didn't want to start another thread about a subject I have the faint idea I've read about it before, so I would appreciate your quick feedback. TIA!

No problem. If you end up ordering from the same guy I did, the vinyl will have a thin protective film on both sides (the adhesive side and the other side) that I didn't notice at first. Make sure you get that off when you finish. The roll was enough to do both taillights twice I would guess. So don't be afraid to peel off and re do it ion you're not happy with you first try

Just finished the order, same guy. Thanks for the tips!
Got them installed and hot damn do they look good. The pictures and video don't do them justice. In the video it looks like they are flickering when the planks/halos are steady. It is caused by the cameras refresh rate. They do not flicker when looking at them. The harness was easy to install and I just connected the gray wire to a fuse that is powered by the ignition. The DRL's and sequentials work perfectly. I used the Hikari Eye of Megatron H7's for the high and low beams
