Anyone use the BuiltRight dash mount with a Ram X-grip on a tuner like the X4 or BDX?

Just had a friend do his 2WD truck up similar to yours, but not quite as nice. Lift, big tires and everything. He put a locker rear in it, and takes that thing off road a lot and never seems to get stuck, go figure. He says it's all in how you drive. He don't need no stinkin' 4WD!

I'm in the same boat but sans locker. Which locker did he go with? Thanks!

Yes, his truck looks really good. Nicer than mine, to be sure. He ALMOST makes me want to start modding my truck. He's telling me how easy it would be to add a lift, 35" tires, shocks, front end components, and so on. A bad influence, he is!

I'm not sure what locker he put in it. He talked about finding a used one, but I think he bought a new aftermarket one. I'll have to ask him

I sent him a link to this forum, and he commented at how nice and busy it is, but I don't think he ever registered.

Please, if you'd be so kind, I'd like to know if he used the factory electronic locking diff or a beefier aftermarket unit such as an ARB Air Locker... whenever you might hear from him.

Thanks!

He got the Detroit automatic locker. He pulled his rear and changed out the guts and put this in.
I would have never thought of swapping out the insides. I thought he just bought an axle and swapped them out.

He is away on a hunting trip. He says everything is on their website.

I found the page. I have no idea which one he got, but he said it was a locker.

Maybe you can plug in your truck info, and go from here? https://www.eaton.com/us/en-us/produ...-selector.html

Or it could be this page: https://www.eaton.com/us/en-us/produ...erentials.html

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Ask him how it is in daily driving, when doing U-turns n' stuff. Is it noisy? clunky? jerky? etc... I appreciate your follow up.

Sincerely.

OH! and (sorry to everyone else for the threadjack)...

Ask him which axle differential ring gear size he has? It's either 9.75 or 8.8.

I may need to swap to a 9.75 axle assembly, in which case I'm leaning to the ARB Air Locker.

Go big or go home.

And she was looking really good at my uncle's farm on Christmas
A little bit of elbow grease and polish should bring their shine up to match the truck.
