Fixed the stabar endlink situation that arose yesterday when installing the 5100s. 3 of the 4 nuts seized from rust. Had to hack-saw the tops off. Bottom right one couldn't access with hacksaw, so had to dremel (with cut off wheel) the nut in half. Talk about a FUGGED up design. Way to go FORD. Big F-U to the engineer responsible for these!
Replaced both endlinks with Moogs. They have a different stud design with actual 18mm wrench flats, not some tiny 8mm hex that strips. They are greasable too. I greased up before installing too. They seemed dry.
I did my end links recently too, what a pain in the ***! Had to cut mine off too

Yeah I thought I was royally screwed at one point. You can see the link busted in two from my attempt to wail on it with a sledge hoping the stud would break haha.
Then I had the thought of cutting the bottom nut in half. Cringing the whole time. But it worked! And as I was doing the last cut, the disc disintegrated haha. Phew!!
Had a can of ignot silver paint laying around so I decided to paint match the hvac trim pieces. Currently debating swapping in leather or adding a 6” lift...
I had an Explorer, '15, that had bright metal surrounds like you painted. When the sun was bright, the reflection in the side window made the mirror nearly impossible to see into. I had to paint my vent surrounds matt black to lessen this problem. I hope your change doesn't give you an issue like I had. I like bright metal, not chrome, but sometimes it's location in the vehicle does not make for good outcomes. Just an FYI. Good paint job though!
I have this mod (column shift version). Best $50 I spent. I drive in Eco most of the time, so this is nice. I've heard there are some drawbacks when used with remote start, but those may have been resolved. Slava is a great guy to work with over there. He stands behind the product from what I experienced. Hope this helps.
I just installed this, and it's wonderful! It took all of five minutes to install. Living in the mountains, Sport Mode is the only way to go (the others don't shift quickly enough to maintain speed on the uphill transitions), but I have to change the transmission mode every time I start the truck. Now it automatically jumps to Sport Mode. It'll be helpful, too, on those few occasions when I pull a trailer or haul a full load in the bed; I won't have to worry about forgetting to shift into Tow/Haul mode.
Caveat - I don't have remote start. I read that it might not play nice with remote start -- you would have to turn off the ignition and manually start the truck to activate the Drive Mode Memory Module.
I decided to change the d-rings to black. I pulled the winch plate, removed the rollers and then I painted the bracket black.
Notice that the bumper doesn't stick out that far. However in some front pictures the bumper looks like it sticks out further.

Big fan of that bumper. I can't tell from the pics, do you still have your crash bars or no? I'm looking at winch bumpers, but don't necessarily want to cut the bars, and also don't want them sticking out from below the bumper.
