Picked up some 2020 Lariat rims today to replace the STX-style rims on my 2018 Lariat. Now trying to decide what tires to order. I think it's between the Falken Wildpeaks and BFG KO2s.
The locking bar on mine was slightly too long or the slot it locks into was too shallow. American Trucks offered an overnight replacement but I just took about 1/16" off with a cutoff wheel and all is good. Its a little difficult to open because you're just relying on an o-ring on the small circular lock to lift the heavy lid. With sweaty hands when I was installing it, it's almost impossible to lift without slipping off. There is a more expensive version (double the price) of this with a keyed combo lock and a little handle to lift the lid. I found the lock on amazon for $35 and may replace it. I will also drill a hole to add a screwed on **** to make lifting it easier. Overall I'm very happy with it.
I made it! I like having a cap for traveling and winter but prefer the quick access and look without. I wanted something where I could take it off/on in a moments notice. Takes me maybe 5 min. to attach/detach the cap
Did you drill through the top to put the rings in? I have something I set up that uses a deer gutting hoist, but takes more work to get the topper secured to it, 2x4's under it, straps under the 2x4's then attach them to the cross bar of the deer hoist then I can lift it off. Mine stays on unless I have to remove it, but haven't removed it since I painted it and put it on. While it takes some effort to hook up, it sure is a lot easier than having my wife help lift it off and move it around by hand. I like your setup, but wouldn't want to attach anything to the topper that is permanent, and that seems to be the most difficult part to figure out.

That's the one I was contemplating. Seems a little more palatable than some of the others on the market for nearly $300 that serve the same purpose. Was the install difficult? Any removal of trim pieces on the console or did it just drop in and require a few screws? Does it seem fairly sturdy? I wouldn't leave anything in it for any significant amount of time. Mostly looking for something that I can toss my pistol in when visiting family. Little awkward when I head to the in law's after work on Fridays for dinner and I have the choice of the awkward arched back hug or jabbing my mother in law in the stomach with a G19 and spare mag in my appendix holster for the standard hug.

Its very sturdy. It's fairly thick steel with no flex. I got it for the same reason, I was just leaving my gun in the console with it locked when needed but that is easily defeated. I've had a gun stolen out of a truck before and don't want a repeat. I also didn't want to loose unsecure access to the entire console.
The install requires removing the rear cup holders, rear panel on the console (2x 7mm bolts), and the two rear 10mm bolts. You then lift the rear of the console up and slide a plate with nuts under. You then drop the safe into the console, drill 4 holes and screw into the bottom plate. I think on of my nuts fell off so I only have 3 bolts securing it.
I installed new rear break rotors and pads and found that rust had caused one of the parking brake shoe linings to come unglued from the brake shoe on the passenger side and caused the parking brake actuator (circled) to seize up solid on both sides. Make sure you check them when you are in there. I ordered new parking brake shoes and hardware and got it all replaced. 20

Putting anti seize on tire studs is a nono, it will lead to snapped studs.
