Default What about "4A" transmission option?

I believe a tranny option adding 4A to the std. 4H; 2H and 4L is available. I hardly ever hear anything about nor have ever seen a truck with it.

My current truck has the std 4H but as I use it to get around in snow--I can feel binding when turning the wheel in high-traction bare pavement patches/situations.

Is the 4A the answer to this on my next truck?

Thanks.

Yes. Or simply turn off 4H when turning in high traction areas...

If you want 4A, buy a Lariat or above.

I believe you'd need a different transfer case, to me that's a "crazy" part. Lol

I estimate depending on shipping that I can swap out all the necessary components for under $1,000
